Since the day I got saved I have been asking people the same question.

If I give you the answer are you going to do it.

Not because I am trying to be difficult. Not because I am holding something back. But because I have learned the hard way that most people do not actually want the answer. They want the conversation. They want the comfort of feeling like they are seeking without the cost of actually seeking changing.

And every single time I ask that question I hear God asking me the same thing.

Chris. If I give you the answer are you going to do it.

Here is what I finally understood. The kingdom of God is simply God's way of doing things. That is it. No complicated theology. No religious language. Just His way of doing things applied to every area of your life.

Your finances. His way of doing things says bring the whole tithe. Malachi 3:10. Test Me in this and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven. You can be broke. You can cry about being broke. You can pray about being broke. You can tell everybody you know how broke you are. But broke does not move God. Being broke is your condition. Tithing is His way of doing things. And God does not respond to your condition. He responds to your alignment with His kingdom.

Your marriage. His way of doing things says love your wife as Christ loved the church. Ephesians 5:25. Not when she deserves it. Not when things are good. The way Christ loved the church. All the way to the cross if necessary.

Your home. His way of doing things says as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15. Not some of the house. Not when it is convenient. The whole house. Your leadership. Your example. Your daily decision about whose way of doing things runs this home.

Every area of your life is a kingdom question. Not a complicated one. Just one.

Are you doing it God's way or your way.

You have already seen how it turns out. You have already walked that road far enough to know where it goes. You have already stood at the bottom of enough pits you dug yourself to know that your way of doing things has a pattern and the pattern does not end well.

Jesus said it plainly. Not everyone who calls me Lord is actually living under my authority. Not everyone who knows the answer is doing it. Knowing His way of doing things and doing His way of doing things are two completely different things.

The kingdom does not come into your life the moment you get saved. It comes into your life the moment you start doing it His way.

Your kingdom come. Your way of doing things come. Your will be done here in this marriage, this home, this bank account, this temper, this decision, the same way it is done in heaven.

That is the prayer. That is the kingdom. That is the whole thing.

So let me ask you the same question I have been asking since the day I got saved.

If I give you the answer are you going to do it.

"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

TODAY'S BATTLE ORDERS

Pick one area of your life where you already know God's way of doing things and you have not been doing it. Not an area where you are confused. An area where you already have the answer and you have been choosing your way anyway.

Write it down. Be specific. Not I struggle with finances but I have not read my bible in six months and I know that is God's way of doing things.

Now write this question over it: If God gives me the answer am I going to do it?

Then do it today. Not tomorrow. Not when the circumstances change. Not when it makes more sense financially or emotionally or logically. Today.

The kingdom does not wait for convenient. It waits for obedient.

Doing Over Knowing

The enemy is not afraid of how much you know. He is afraid of how much you do. He will let you study the kingdom all day long as long as you never actually live in it.

Knowing God's way of doing things is not the weapon. Doing God's way of doing things is the weapon. Every time you choose His way over your way in a specific situation you are advancing the kingdom in that area of your life. Every time you tithe when you are broke you are doing it His way. Every time you love your wife when you do not feel like it you are doing it His way. Every time you lead your home toward God instead of away from Him you are doing it His way.

The kingdom advances one act of obedience at a time. Not one conversation at a time. Not one prayer about it at a time. One act of obedience at a time.

Do it His way today. That is the weapon. That is the kingdom. That is how the ground gets taken.

How many laps around the same mountain does it take before you stop at the starting line and do it His way?

Is the kingdom of God actually running your home right now or is your kingdom still on the throne?

Here is the truth. You already have the answer to most of what you are asking God about. You do not need more revelation. You need more obedience.

Write this down: "The kingdom of God is God's way of doing things. Today I stop doing it my way and start doing it His way. One decision at a time. One area at a time. Starting right now."

Stop asking God for the answer.

You already have it.
